Is Docklands Good for a Night Out?

Docklands suits a night built around dinner, conversation, waterfront views or a ticketed event. It is less useful for anyone expecting a dense late-night club circuit. The right plan depends on the evening you actually want.

A relaxed night out

Start with a waterfront walk or dinner, then choose one bar rather than assuming every part of Docklands stays busy late. Our Docklands food guide lists nearby options and takeaway that can be brought to Invergordon.

Invergordon after work or on the weekend

The bar is small, warm and made for conversation. There are no TVs. Walk in for a pint or whisky, or book a table if your group needs a defined meeting point.

Match the plan to the closing time

Our usual closing times are 9pm Sunday–Tuesday, 11pm Wednesday–Thursday and midnight Friday–Saturday, with last drinks 30 minutes before closing. Check current opening hours and any event-specific arrangements before planning a late visit.

Getting home

Check the current public-transport journey for the time you expect to leave. Tram journeys entirely within the signed Free Tram Zone are free. If your journey starts or finishes outside it, use myki as required. The zone does not make trains, airport buses or every trip from Docklands free.
