What It Costs
Group bookings have no minimum spend and no hire fee, whatever the size. You reserve the space, the pub keeps trading, everyone buys their own or you run a tab.
Exclusive hire is different — we're closing the doors and turning away everyone else, so there's a minimum spend. There's still no separate hire fee: if your group spends the minimum across the bar, you pay nothing extra. If you come in under, we invoice the difference.
Or $60 per head where your numbers push it higher than the figure below.

Security. Some bookings need crowd controllers — 18ths and 21sts, groups where most guests are under 25, anything with a DJ or amplified music, ticketed or publicly promoted events, and anything over 60 people. Where it's needed we arrange it and charge it at cost: currently $132 per hour plus GST for two, four-hour minimum. We'll tell you at quote stage. We won't spring it on you afterwards.
Deposit & cancellation. 25% of the minimum spend confirms the date and comes straight off your tab on the night. Cancel inside 14 days midweek (28 days Friday or Saturday) and the deposit is retained. Final numbers 7 days out.

You choose the food
We're a wet-led pub with no kitchen, and BYO catering is welcome. You order in whatever your crowd actually wants, at your price — instead of paying a venue's set menu rate per head. We keep snacks behind the bar too: crisps, nuts, pork scratchings, pork pies and scotch eggs.
People can hear each other
No TVs anywhere, by design, and no music loud enough to shout over. It's the reason work groups settle in for four hours instead of drifting off after one.
Everyone can get here
Trams 70, 86 and 35 stop at the door, inside the free tram zone, and it's five to seven minutes' walk from Marvel Stadium. Nobody needs to plan a route or find parking.

Docklands is wall-to-wall offices and we're the only standalone bar in NewQuay — which makes us the easy answer for a team that wants to walk somewhere rather than book a tram into town.
December Fridays go first, and they go early. End-of-year enquiries start landing in August. Get your date held now and sort the details later — a date costs nothing to hold and everything to lose.
