Uisge beatha
Say it oosh-ka bay-ha. It's Scottish Gaelic for “the water of life” — and after a few centuries of being said quickly in pubs, it became the word whisky.
Highland Whisky, Treated With Respect

We're named after Invergordon — a port town in the Scottish Highlands with a working whisky distillery — so the back bar is a point of pride, not an afterthought. The shelf runs from friendly first drams to a 50-year-old kept for the days worth marking.
New to whisky? Tell us what you usually drink and we'll pour you something you'll actually enjoy. No jargon, no snobbery — and if you'd rather stick to the pints, nae bother.
BYO Takeaway — Always
Bring your favourite Docklands takeaway in. No plates, no cutlery, no judgement — just good pints and great company. Plenty of cracking spots within a few minutes' walk.
We keep snacks behind the bar for the in-between — crisps, nuts, pork scratchings, beef jerky, pork pies and scotch eggs. And it works for groups too: order catering in for your function at your own price, instead of eating a venue's set menu.
There's one more option on the way. We're opening a chippy round the corner at 27 Rakaia Way, Docklands — Invergordon Scran, a separate business, about five minutes' walk from here.

I love Docklands pubs seeing I live here but not sure I’ll return.Posted on Google don ormistonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As a homesick scot, I felt like I had gone home, the wee lass behind the bar was brilliant, happy and friendly. It was great to have a pint off Tennents and a scotch egg, loved the place will definitely will visit again.Posted on Google Joseph FletcherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great place for a swallyPosted on Google Ryan FullartonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. One of two places to reliably get a pint of Tennants in Melbourne, very cool and cosy place. Good selection of British snacks, good scottish beers and whiskeys. Overall gives a solid taste of home. Highly reccomend if you're looking for a Scottish Bar in Melbourne.
The House Rules
Invergordon Bar is a Scottish pub at 381 Docklands Drive, Docklands, Melbourne — close to Marvel Stadium and Festival Hall, with trams 70, 86 and 35 stopping at the door. We pour proper imperial pints of Tennent's, McEwan's, Guinness, Kilkenny and Magners, and keep a serious Highland whisky shelf. Up to thirty of you can book online with no minimum spend, we host bigger groups and private functions, and we sell gift cards. We're named after a Highland port town 16,000-odd kilometres from here — we brought the important bits with us and left the rest. Six rules, never broken:
No tellies. Ever.
We made the news on two continents for this one. The pub is for the people in it — your mates look better in person.
Pints, not pots.
A proper imperial pint, poured patiently, in a glass with some self-respect. This is not negotiable either.
Whisky gets respect.
Highland drams from friendly to fearsome — including a 50-year-old that's seen more than most of our regulars.
Your dog is welcome.
Dogs inside and out. Kids too, with a responsible adult — it's a community pub, not a velvet rope.
Bring your own dinner.
BYO takeaway from anywhere in Docklands. You sort the food, we'll handle the drinks side of the arrangement.
Blether is the point.
Blether (n., Scots): a long, happy conversation about nothing in particular. The entire reason this place exists.
Built for Conversation,
Named for the Highlands
Invergordon Bar is named after the Scottish port town of Invergordon — home to one of Scotland's great whisky distilleries. We opened on Docklands Drive in July 2025, and we're here for the long haul.
For more pub news and local reads, browse stories from Invergordon Bar.
It's a community pub in the old sense: TV-free by design, dog-friendly by instinct, and run by the two people whose names are on the licence. Less noise, more chat, more connection.
“Stupid, silly, bizarre — Scots react to Aussie bar's no-TV stance.”
— The Daily Record, Scotland
We're still not getting a telly. The story ran in papers on both sides of the world — along with kinder words about the pints, the screen-free pub culture, and what we're building in Docklands.

Meet Invergordon Scran
Scran (n., Scots): food, grub, dinner. It's the chippy we've been threatening to open — properly battered fish, chips, haggis, black pudding and square sausage, five minutes' walk from the bar at 27 Rakaia Way.
- Eat in — a Scottish buffet, which we're fairly confident is a first for Melbourne.
- Take away — a proper chippy menu, fried to order.
- Bring it here — house rule no. 5 still stands. Carry it round to the bar and we'll pour the pints.

Invergordon Scran is a separate business. Same folk behind it, but it trades as its own company — from its own premises at 27 Rakaia Way, Docklands. All food will be sold by, paid to, prepared and handled by Invergordon Scran.
