About Invergordon Bar

Scottish Roots, Melbourne Spirit, Expat Welcome

Invergordon Bar is more than just a place for a pint, it's a community. It’s a bar where locals feel at home, expats reconnect with their roots, and visitors discover the warm hospitality of a true Scottish pub. Dean and Erin’s dream was to build something meaningful in Docklands, a place for everyone, but especially a sanctuary for fellow Scots, Irish, English, and Welsh expats living far from home.

Dean and Erin

Dean was born in Northern Ireland and grew up across multiple countries, England, Scotland, New Zealand, and Australia. He spent part of his childhood in Invergordon, Scotland, where he lived next to the local train station near his grandparents, Norman and Thelma. The local pubs were more than a watering hole — they were where people gathered, supported one another, and formed lifelong friendships. That spirit stayed with Dean throughout his life.

In 2003, Dean moved to Melbourne where he met Erin — a proud local with Filipino heritage and deep Scottish roots through the Dundas family line. They married in 2007 and built a life grounded in community, hospitality, and shared values. Erin has a natural talent for making people feel welcome, and her experiences in Melbourne fuelled the idea of creating a space that brings people together — no matter where they're from.

The name Invergordon is more than just a nod to Dean’s hometown, it’s a tribute to shared heritage, resilience, and a life lived across continents. Whether you're from Belfast or Birmingham, Glasgow or Galway, or just around the corner in Docklands, you'll find a bit of home at Invergordon Bar.

More than a bar, this is a hub. A meeting place. A spot for trad music, footy banter, Burns suppers, and late-night stories. Located near Marvel Stadium and the waterfront, Invergordon Bar is where expats and locals alike can connect over pints, drams, and shared stories.
